BACOG Residents Participated in Water Quality Testing Event

Approximately 60 BACOG area residents participated in the Barrington Area Council of Governments Private Well Water Quality Testing Program on November 14th.   BACOG, in coordination with the Lake County Health Department, provided easy, convenient pick up and drop off for testing kits.  The next event will be held in Spring 2012.  To find out more information on water quality testing or to receive notification of future testing events, visit the BACOG website at:   http://bit.ly/ieU5t0

BACOG Wins Fall ILGISA Poster Contest

BACOG won the Fall ILGISA Poster Contest in the professional category for the exhibit: “Barrington Area Study of Groundwater Resources in the Shallow Aquifer System”.  The poster is a detailed and understandable depiction of the information and mapped data that the BACOG Water Resources Initiative has accomplished over the past several years.  This poster includes examples of how GIS is used for visualization and representative modeling of shallow aquifers.
