Congrats to the Spring Creek Watershed Plan

The Spring Creek Watershed Plan has been fully funded by the IEPA as of December 2010.  This means planning the approach and work plan for the project can begin immediately and work on the watershed can begin as early as Spring 2011!  The Spring Creek Watershed contains vast stretches of open land with wetlands and important bird areas.

Patsy Mortimer receives the “Stewardship of the Year” Award

December 2, 2010 – Patsy Mortimer received the 2010 Steward ship of the Year Award for her dedication and leadership in the Flint Creek Watershed Partnership. Patsy helped to create the partnership in 2005 with a number of partners including the Citizens for Conservation, Barrington Area Council of Governments, Barrington Area Development Council, Barrington Area Conservation Trust, Townships of Barrington and Cuba, the Villages of Barrington, Barrington Hills, Hawthorn Woods, Lake Barrington, Lake Zurich, and North Barrington.

North Barrington Publishes Watershed Best Management Practices

The Village of North Barrington in partnership with Barrington Area Conservation Trust, Flint Creek Watershed Partnership, BACOG, and Lake County Stormwater Management has published a guide for homeowners, business owners, developer/builders, officials and municipal staff.

This handbook is a guide with information about pollution prevention, storm water management practices, stream corridor management, natural resource management, and related resources.
